Legal & Compliance Overview

KPMG’s Legal & Compliance team plays a critical role in helping organizations manage regulatory risks, improve operational performance, and ensure adherence to governance frameworks. With growing regulatory scrutiny, organizations increasingly require guidance beyond traditional audits — extending to legal and process risk assessments, compliance strategies, and internal control evaluations.

KPMG’s professionals offer in-depth expertise in both global and local compliance issues, providing clients with tailored support in corporate governance, risk management, and legal compliance strategies.

Role Responsibilities

The position includes diverse responsibilities such as:

  • Demonstrating strong knowledge in Legal and Compliance areas, including labor laws, health and safety regulations, secretarial compliance, finance laws, and industry-specific legislation.

  • Performing compliance risk assessments, reviews, and audits, with the ability to identify and mitigate sector-specific compliance risks.

  • Designing and developing compliance checklists, manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials.

  • Supporting or managing compliance tool implementations for multiple clients and monitoring usage on their behalf.

  • Staying updated with changes in statutory and regulatory requirements and promoting best practices in compliance controls.

  • Managing multiple client projects, handling team responsibilities, addressing client escalations, and serving as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC).

  • Preparing and presenting comprehensive reports for senior management and clients.

  • Coordinating with cross-functional teams across the organization for effective project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Relevant educational qualifications in law or compliance-related fields.

  • Prior experience in legal, risk, or compliance roles is essential.
