About the Organisation
BEII is a rapidly growing organisation at the intersection of biotechnology and innovation, dedicated to creating impactful solutions that contribute to both science and society. As a forward-looking entity, BEII aims to integrate legal, corporate, and technological expertise into its operations to build a strong foundation for future growth. Being at an early stage of development, the organisation offers interns the chance to experience the unique dynamics of a startup environment while working on projects that directly shape its structure and compliance framework. Joining BEII as a legal intern allows students to engage with real-time documentation, governance, and legal processes that are critical for innovative businesses in today’s economy.
Eligibility
This internship is open to law students pursuing LLB or LLM who demonstrate a keen interest in corporate law, compliance, and documentation. Applicants should possess strong drafting and research skills and must be motivated to contribute to the legal structuring of an early-stage organisation. A prior interest in startup-related legal processes, including company registration, compliance under Startup India schemes, and documentation for Section 8 entities, will be an added advantage. Candidates with a willingness to learn, adapt, and actively participate in shaping the legal foundation of a biotech-based organisation are particularly encouraged to apply. Since the internship is remote and flexible, it also suits students balancing academics with practical exposure.
Role
As a legal intern at BEII, students will gain significant exposure to corporate documentation and compliance-related work. Their responsibilities will include assisting in company registration procedures, supporting the drafting and reviewing of contracts, agreements, and compliance documents, and contributing to the preparation of key governance papers such as the Memorandum of Association (MoA). Interns will also be involved in preparing documentation for government schemes, Startup India processes, and Section 8 registrations. In addition, they will provide research support on matters related to corporate governance and intellectual property rights (IPR). This role is designed to give interns an in-depth, practical understanding of the legal challenges and opportunities in a startup environment while building professional competence.
How to Apply
Interested candidates can apply by filling out the application form available at this link. Applicants are encouraged to highlight their interest in corporate law, compliance, and startup operations in the application. The internship duration is flexible and can be discussed with the selected candidates, making it adaptable for students with varying academic schedules. The internship is conducted entirely in a remote format, ensuring accessibility from anywhere. Upon successful completion, interns will receive an Internship Certificate and a Recommendation, adding value to their professional journey. Since BEII is an emerging organisation, this is a unique opportunity to contribute directly to its foundational legal framework while gaining first-hand experience in startup legal operations.
