Eligibility
The internship program is designed for law students in their 4th or 5th year of study. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of legal fundamentals and the ability to think broadly as a generalist. While the firm seeks interns who are adaptable and academically grounded, an interest and basic understanding of tax law is considered an added advantage. Since Shreya Rao & Associates focuses heavily on tax and private client matters, applicants who are familiar with tax first principles will find themselves better aligned with the work culture. In addition, candidates should have the discipline, analytical ability, and eagerness to learn, which are essential qualities for excelling in a small but focused professional setting.
Role
Interns at Shreya Rao & Associates are given the opportunity to work directly with the team on diverse assignments. Unlike routine internships, the program is structured as an assessment internship where interns are closely mentored and evaluated for potential future roles. The tasks involve assisting on client matters, legislative and policy research, pro-bono work, and academic projects in the tax and private client space. The firm prides itself on providing meaningful exposure rather than administrative tasks, ensuring that interns gain practical insights into the profession. Only two interns are taken on each month, which allows for a high level of individual attention and guidance. Additionally, the firm offers a stipend of ₹10,000 per month, acknowledging the effort and commitment required to participate in an in-person program in Bangalore.
