Eligibility

EY is inviting applications for the role of Assistant Manager (Legal) within its GDS GCO Enablement Team, based in India. To qualify, candidates must hold a law degree (LL.B.) with 5–8 years of post-qualification experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex contracts. The role requires strong expertise in handling legal terms in client-side and vendor contracts, government tenders, RFPs, and subcontractor agreements. Preference will be given to candidates familiar with Singapore, US, and UK laws. Additional desirable experience includes risk management in professional services, negotiation of sensitive clauses (such as non-compete and most favoured customer clauses), knowledge of data protection laws (GDPR/CCPA), privacy and security terms, and prior exposure to IP-related contract terms. Professionals with experience in Big Four firms or handling SAT matters will be at an advantage.

Role

As an Assistant Manager (Legal), the candidate will provide strategic legal support to EY’s business operations, particularly within the GDS-GCO Enablement team. The role involves working closely with the Singapore General Counsel’s Office and senior stakeholders to manage contractual risks and ensure compliance with global standards. Key responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, including engagement agreements, teaming agreements, subcontract agreements, NDAs, and RFP responses. The candidate will also advise on IT-related contracts, collaborate with cross-functional teams (independence, onshore legal, security, and risk management), and monitor organizational changes that impact legal compliance. Importantly, the role requires mentoring junior team members, guiding them through complex transactions, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the legal function. This opportunity allows professionals to directly influence business decisions while ensuring compliance with international best practices.

The position is based in Bengaluru, offering professionals the opportunity to be part of a globally integrated legal team within one of the world’s most prestigious organizations.
