About the Organization

OutLawed India is a unique initiative aimed at strengthening civic engagement by making law and policy more accessible to young minds. The organization focuses on educating school students about the fundamentals of Indian law, global affairs, and the importance of active citizenship. Through interactive programs and structured training, OutLawed seeks to foster awareness and empower the next generation to engage meaningfully with governance, justice, and policy. The initiative works at the intersection of law, education, and social impact, offering interns the chance to contribute to projects that combine academic rigor with community outreach. By being part of this mission, interns gain valuable insights into how legal education can be adapted to create real-world impact.

Eligibility

The internship is open to law students with strong research and writing abilities who are keen on contributing to legal education and policy awareness initiatives. Ideal candidates should demonstrate creativity in simplifying complex legal concepts for younger audiences, along with an enthusiasm for shaping innovative legal aid programs. Students with a genuine interest in education, access to justice, and public policy will find this opportunity particularly rewarding. While the internship is open to remote candidates, bonus consideration is given to those who can work in-person at the Bangalore office. Additionally, familiarity with Kannada will be an added advantage, as it may help in better outreach during program delivery.

Role and Responsibilities

Interns at OutLawed India will work closely with the core team to support the design and refinement of training materials used in educational programs. Their role will involve conducting legal research, drafting accessible content on Indian law and global issues, and tailoring information to suit school-level understanding. They may also be tasked with assisting in the development of presentations, resource kits, and workshops that make legal education engaging and practical. Beyond content creation, interns will contribute ideas for expanding citizen engagement initiatives and may help in pilot sessions or workshops. This experience equips interns with a blend of legal research skills, communication expertise, and a hands-on understanding of how law interacts with education and policy reform.

How to Apply

OutLawed India is hiring two interns for September 2025.
