About the Job

The company is seeking a seasoned Legal Counsel to join its team and provide comprehensive legal support across its MEIA operations. This position requires an individual capable of interacting directly with the regional leadership team, advising on strategic and operational legal matters. The role involves delivering timely, accurate, and practical legal advice on a variety of issues including contracts, corporate law, M&A transactions, commercial dealings, and data privacy. The successful candidate will actively manage contract negotiations, handle litigation matters, liaise with external counsel, and assist internal departments in achieving business objectives while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. As a global organization, Ingersoll Rand expects this individual to collaborate across teams and adapt legal guidance to multiple jurisdictions.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Master of Laws (LLM) degree, with at least 7 years of professional experience in a commercial legal environment. Full proficiency in English, excellent drafting skills, and expertise in commercial and contractual law are essential. Experience in managing cross-border and multi-jurisdictional contracts will be highly valued, as the role demands navigating complex international business environments. Candidates must demonstrate professional integrity, strong problem-solving abilities, and the ability to devise creative business solutions to legal challenges. Prior in-house legal experience is desirable, though not mandatory, provided the candidate has substantial expertise and a proactive, results-oriented approach. Being a qualified lawyer in India is a prerequisite for this role.
