EVENT DETAILS
Model United Nations (MUN) is a simulation of the United Nations where students represent different countries and debate global issues. The session begins with a roll call, followed by setting the agenda. Delegates then speak in the General Speakers’ List to share their country’s stance. This is followed by moderated and unmoderated caucuses for focused and informal discussions, respectively. Delegates draft and present working papers, which can become draft resolutions. After debate and possible amendments, the committee votes on the resolution. Basic rules include maintaining formal decorum, speaking in third person, using diplomatic language, raising placards for recognition, avoiding cross-talk, and following the Chair’s instructions. Respectful and active participation, along with proper country representation, is essential.
The CLC MUN 2025 Conference will host three simulated committees. Each committee’s description and agenda are outlined in the following pages. While some committees have fixed agendas, others will have their agendas announced by the Executive Board closer to the conference. The Executive Board also reserves the right to introduce one additional agenda to any committee with prior notice, which will be shared no later than 10 days before the conference. Delegates are expected to wear formal or Western business attire while attending the UNGA and IP committees. Indian formal attire is appropriate for the AIPPM committee. Casual or informal clothing is strictly not permitted with fellow delegates. As you dive into debate, negotiation, and resolution-building, we urge you to embrace diverse perspectives, engage respectfully, and work collaboratively toward consensus. Your voice matters, and your efforts can leave a lasting impact on the dialogue and direction of each committee. On behalf of the entire team, we wish you a memorable, enriching, and empowering experience at CLC MUN.
