About The Blog
The NLIU-CLT Blog is a student-run initiative of the Centre for Law and Technology at the National Law Institute University, Bhopal. It promotes high-quality academic writing and research on emerging issues at the intersection of law, technology, and policy. Over time, the NLIU-CLT Blog has grown into a trusted voice in conversations on data governance, digital innovation, and the future of rights in an increasingly networked society. It is, above all, a testament to the intellectual energy of NLIU’s student community, which continues to raise the bar for thoughtful, future-oriented legal writing.
Theme
The Cell invites submissions on the broad area of “Law and Technology” on a rolling basis. There is no specific theme prescribed; contributors are free to write on any topic within this domain. Illustrative areas include artificial intelligence, data protection, fintech, digital governance, cybersecurity, and intellectual property, inter alia.
Submission Guidelines
- All submissions must be in Times New Roman, font size 12, spacing 1.5., Margins: Normal.
- The Word limit for each manuscript is 1200-1500 words. This limit may be relaxed at the sole discretion of the Review Board, and the
- The relevant sources should be hyperlinked within the article itself. Sources of which no link can be provided must be mentioned as endnotes. In no circumstances will any footnoting be permitted for manuscripts, and the author(s) must maintain uniformity in the form of referencing used across the manuscript.
- Authors are requested to not put their names anywhere in the main manuscript, to ensure confidentiality, and thus fairness, during the entire process of review.
- All entries should be submitted in .doc or .docx format.
- Co-authorship of a maximum of two persons is permitted.
- The author(s) bear sole responsibility for the accuracy of facts, opinions or views stated in the submitted Manuscript.
- The language used must not be unparliamentary, abusive or result in disrepute of any third person.
- The Editorial Board does not accept plagiarized content and in case of gross plagiarism found in the contents of the submitted manuscript, the manuscript shall be subject to rejection.
- Similarity check for the Blog is done using the Turnitin software. A maximum of 15% of similarity is permissible for the manuscript to pass the first stage of technical review.
- Copyright of all blog posts shall remain with the Cell for Law and Technology.
- Manuscripts not in conformity with these guidelines may be rejected at the sole discretion of the Editorial Board. The Editorial Board reserves the right to send the manuscripts back to the authors for any modification(s) at any stage, in the event of non-conformity with any of the submission guidelines.
Review Process
Each submission to the NLIU-CLT Blog is carefully reviewed before publication. The process takes place in three stages.
First, every piece is checked for plagiarism and similarity to ensure originality and that the work truly reflects the author’s own ideas. This stage also checks for the use of AI in generating the content.
At the second stage, the content is reviewed for clarity. This includes looking at the language, the flow of the writing, and whether the arguments are well-structured and easy to follow.
At the third stage, the submission is examined from a legal perspective, where the accuracy of the arguments, the use of law, and the relevance of the analysis are carefully evaluated. Together, these steps help maintain the high standards of the Blog and ensure that every article published is original, well-written, and legally sound.
