About Organisation

The Chotanagpur Law College, Ranchi was established in 1954. It is registered under section 2 (f)& 12(B) of the UGC Act 1956 and it is also accredited with B++ from National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC). Institution has been granted autonomous status by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi & Ranchi University Ranchi in 2025 . It holds the distinction of being one of the oldest and most esteemed legal institution in Jharkhand. Initially it was affiliated with Bihar University, and later became permanently affiliated with Ranchi University, Ranchi.

About the Opportunity

M.M.Banerjee Memorial National Moot Court Competition 2025, organized in loving memory of the Late M.M.Banerjee, an illustrious alumnus of our institution and the first Advocate General of State of Jharkhand. His exemplary contribution to the legal fraternity and unwavering commitment to upholding the principles of justice have left an indelible mark on the history of law in Jharkhand.

This prestigious competition aims to uphold the spirit of advocacy and legal excellence, commemorating his invaluable contribution to the judiciary of Jharkhand.This moot court competition is organised in compliance with the guidelines established by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Bar Council of India (BCI), to promote the idea of ‘Vocal For Local’ .

M.M. Banerjee Memorial National Moot Court Competition 2025 is designed to challenge participants with a complex and intellectually stimulating moot problem, helping law students hone their research, advocacy, and presentation skills. It provides a platform for young, aspiring lawyers to gain insight into real-world legal proceedings and to pay tribute to one of the stalwarts of Jharkhand’s legal fraternity.

• 15^th September 2025:  Release of Moot Proposition & Opening of Team Registration
• 30^th October 2025: Closing of Team Registration
• 10^th November 2025: Closing of Memo Submission
• 21^st November 2025 (Evening): Inaugural Ceremony & Draw of Lots
• 22^nd November 2025: Preliminary Rounds- I & II and Researcher Test.
• 23^rd November 2025:  Semi Final Round and Finale
• 23^rd November 2025 (Evening): Valedictory Session + Prize Distribution
