Dr. B.R. About the National Conference

The National Conference within the National Conclave organized by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University (DBRANLU), Sonepat, is titled “Functioning of the Constitution: Celebrating 76 years of India’s Constitutional journey, reflecting on its legal evolution and the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.” This conference forms a key part of the broader 15-day National Conclave scheduled from November 22 to December 6, 2025.

The National Conference offers an academic platform to critically reflect on the evolution and functioning of the Indian Constitution over the past seventy-five years. It aims to foster dialogue among scholars, policymakers, legal practitioners, and students on how constitutional interpretation and legal reforms have shaped India’s democratic journey. The conference aspires to generate innovative perspectives on constitutional governance aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047

Call for Papers Guidelines

An abstract should be submitted in both .docx and .pdf formats. Abstracts will be peer-reviewed before acceptance. The selection of papers for presentation will be based on the abstracts. Each abstract must clearly indicate the purpose of the research, methodology, major results, implications, and key references. The following information, in the prescribed format, should be sent along with the abstract. The full paper must also be accompanied by a brief profile of the author, including the author’s name, university/organization/institution, and email ID.

Abstracts and full papers shall be accepted on a rolling basis.

Word limit for Abstract: 250–300 words

Word limit for Full Paper: 3000–5000 words (excluding footnotes)

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for participation in the National Conclave on the Functioning of the Constitution, organized by the Centre for Constitutional Law and Transformative Studies (CCLTS) at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University (DBRANLU), Sonepat, are as follows :

  • Academicians, legal practitioners, research scholars, and students from recognized universities, colleges, and institutions across India are eligible to participate.
  • Policymakers, judges, and members of government institutions engaged in constitutional or legal studies may also attend as delegates.
  • Co-authorship is permitted for up to two authors per paper, with the requirement that at least one author must attend the conference to present the paper.
  • Participants in other conclave events—such as the National Youth Parliament, Constitutional Law Quiz, Policy Drafting Competition, and Judgment Writing Contest—must be students currently enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate programs in law or related disciplines.

Participation Modes

The conclave will be conducted in hybrid mode (both online and offline) to ensure inclusive participation.
Registration is mandatory for all participants, and payment of the applicable fee must be completed before the stated deadline.

Certification

Only registered participants who attend the entire duration of the conference (or their specific session, in the case of paper presenters) will receive participation certificates.

These eligibility conditions aim to foster interdisciplinary engagement between legal academia, professional practitioners, and students, promoting a deeper understanding of India’s constitutional framework and its role in shaping national governance.

Formatting Guidelines

  • The main text should be typed in Times New Roman, font size 12, with 1.5 line spacing.
  • Footnotes should be in Times New Roman, font size 10, with single line spacing.
  • Maintain one-inch margins on all sides.
  • Citation Style: Bluebook 21st Edition / APA
  • Submission topics must be confined to the provided sub-themes and should adhere to only one of them. No author may make more than one entry.
  • Co-authorship of up to two authors is permitted. All submissions must be the author’s original and unpublished work. Plagiarized submissions will be disqualified.
  • In case of any disputes, the decision of the Organising Committee shall be final and binding. Selected papers will be published in the conference proceedings, subject to additional publication charges.
    The conference will be conducted in hybrid mode.

Guidelines For Submission

  1. Submissions will pass through blind peer review, and acceptance will be subject to the report of the peer review team. Submissions not meeting the requirements mentioned will not be reviewed.
  2. The final paper should be submitted after the notification of acceptance of the abstract.
  3. The final submission shall be concluded within the prescribed deadline. No abstract or full paper shall be accepted after the last dates of submission, respectively.
  4. Paper Presenters have to register after the acceptance of the abstract with payment of the required fees.
  5. For participation, registration is mandatory upon confirmation of participation.
  6. The Organising Committee reserves the right to accept and reject the submissions at any stage of the review. The decision of the organisers regarding the selection of the papers shall be final. The copyright for all entries shall vest with the organisers who herewith reserve the right to modify the contributions as per the requirements of necessity.
  7. There shall be a zero-tolerance policy on plagiarism, and copyright similarity up to 10% is permissible. All final submissions will be subjected to blind peer review and a plagiarism check, after which the selected papers will be considered.
  8. A certificate will be awarded to the registered participants who will attend the full Conference.
  9. In the case of co-authorship, at least one author must attend the conference to present the paper.
