“The Centre for Law and Urban Development (CLUD) at National Law University Delhi invites original blog submissions examining contemporary issues at the intersection of law, policy, and urban development. Contributions are welcome from academics, legal practitioners, policymakers, and students.

Real Estate & Housing Policy – Exploring legal frameworks, redevelopment and regulatory incentives that shape affordable housing and urban inclusion.

Urban Taxation & City Finance – Analysing property tax systems, development incentives, infrastructure levies, and compliance reforms driving equitable urban growth.

Healthcare & Pharma Regulation – Examining policy frameworks, health infrastructure planning, and regulatory mechanisms shaping access to healthcare and medical innovation in cities.

Urban Project Financing & Insolvency Frameworks – Assessing how insolvency law, banking regulations, SEBI frameworks, REIT mechanisms and other financing models influence real estate and infrastructure projects in urban

Power, Water & Urban Utilities – Reviewing regulatory reforms in electricity, water, and waste management to improve delivery, accountability, and city sustainability.

Nature of Submission

Word limit: Articles can be anywhere between 800 to 1500 words. In case a relaxation in word count is required, please write to us so that we can consider your request.
Use of images: Images, graphs and tables may be used wherever necessary to illustrate a point. Authors are encouraged to include relevant case studies, empirical data, or policy analysis to support their arguments.
Abstract: An abstract no longer than 50 words, briefly describing the content of the blog, needs to be sent along with the submission. Please note that the abstract should be sent separately and not as part of the main blog.
Author details: Please include a brief author bio of around 100 words along with a high- resolution photo with the submission. A link to the LinkedIn Profile of the author (if existing) also needs to be attached.
Co-authorship: Co-authorship of up to two authors is allowed.

Formatting Guidelines

The text needs to be formatted according to these guidelines: Font – Times New Roman, Font Size – 12, Line Spacing – 1.5, Paragraph Spacing – 6 above and 6 below.
Title must be Bold and Underlined. The text of the title must be in Sentence Case, not all caps or small caps. Heading 2 must be Bold and Heading 3 must be underlined.
Margins must be one inch from all sides. No borders are permitted.
Any supporting materials or legal materials used by the author need to be referenced through the use of hyperlinks, which need to be included in the body of the text.

Submission Guidelines

The file needs to be only in the .doc / .docx format and must be named as “Title CLUD Blog”.
The title must not exceed 10 words and must briefly describe the content of the blog.
Metadata of the file must not disclose any identification of the author, including name and institutional affiliation.
All submissions need to be mailed to clud@nludelhi.ac.in with the subject line: “Submission for Centre for Law and Urban Development Blog Series.
