About the Job
Aramex is hiring a Junior Legal Counsel to support the Global Legal Director – Commercial in delivering the global commercial legal strategy and managing day-to-day commercial legal matters.
The role primarily involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a large volume of complex commercial agreements while supporting global stakeholders.
Purpose of the Role
The successful candidate will:
- Provide legal support to the Global Legal Director – Commercial
- Deliver global commercial legal strategy
- Manage reactive day-to-day commercial legal matters
Responsibilities
Commercial Contract Management
- Draft, review, and manage a wide variety of agreements globally, including:
- NDAs
- Amendments
- Local contracts
- Master agreements
- Terms and conditions
- Tender documents
- Termination notices
- Letters of award
- Lead contract negotiations for Global Commercial Customer contracts
- Ensure compliance with Aramex standard positions and applicable laws
- Maintain accurate record-keeping for commercial customer contracts
- Draft supporting legal processes and documentation
Stakeholder & Risk Advisory
- Work closely with finance, regional legal, commercial, operations, insurance, compliance, and tax teams
- Advise senior stakeholders on business risks and commercial solutions
- Review standard terms and conditions and highlight key risk areas
- Present and communicate contract management updates
- Support business stakeholders on legal compliance and commercial contract matters
Governance & Legal Operations
- Contribute to drafting and updating global contract templates
- Ensure new business services comply with trade license requirements and local laws
- Escalate non-compliant matters to the Global Director – Commercial Legal
- Handle high volumes of contracts efficiently
Eligibility
Education & Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law
- Certificate of admission as an attorney
Experience
- Minimum 4 years of experience in:
- Commercial contract roles
- In-house legal/paralegal positions
- Legal procurement departments
- Experience in contract drafting and negotiation
- Previous experience in Logistics & Transportation industry preferred (not mandatory)
Technical & Professional Skills
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and LexisNexis
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to manage large contract volumes under tight deadlines
