HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is part of the Ministry of Justice and manages criminal, civil, and family courts and tribunals in England and Wales. It ensures that the justice system functions effectively for the public.

Position Overview

The Summer Internship is a temporary full-time placement that allows students to gain practical experience in the functioning of courts and tribunals while supporting administrative and case-processing tasks.

Roles and Responsibilities

Supporting case progression through the court/tribunal system.
Performing administrative duties within court offices.
Assisting teams with documentation and record management.
Communicating with court users, legal professionals, and judiciary members.
Providing general operational support to ensure smooth court functioning.

Eligibility

Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Good IT and administrative skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
Must have the legal right to work in the UK.
Must pass security vetting checks (BPSS or CTC depending on location).
