Position Overview:
The organisation is hiring a Junior Lawyer (Public / Regulatory / Energy Law) on a 6-month contractual basis. This role is designed for early-career qualified lawyers looking to gain hands-on experience in regulatory and public law advisory work within an in-house setting.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Advising on public and administrative law matters, including statutory interpretation
- Assisting with regulatory compliance and risk assessment
- Conducting legal research and preparing drafts of:
- Legal documents
- Policies
- Regulatory submissions
- Working on matters related to:
- Energy law
- Infrastructure projects
- Sector-specific legislation
- Liaising with:
- Government authorities
- Regulatory bodies
- External counsel
- Supporting:
- Dispute resolution
- Contentious regulatory matters
- Monitoring developments in law and regulatory frameworks
Eligibility:
- Qualified lawyer with 0–3 years PQE (NQ to 3 PQE)
- Experience in:
- Public law / Regulatory law / Energy law (preferred)
- General commercial law (also acceptable)
- Strong:
- Legal research skills
- Drafting ability
- Good understanding of:
- Regulatory environments
- Government functioning
