About the Organiser

Meerut College, established in 1892, is one of the oldest and reputed institutions in Uttar Pradesh. Its Faculty of Law actively promotes practical legal education through initiatives like moot court competitions, fostering advocacy and research skills among students.

About the Competition:

The 1st National Moot Court Competition, 2026 is being organized by the Moot Court Committee of Meerut College. It is a national-level advocacy competition designed to simulate real court proceedings and provide students with hands-on experience in legal research, drafting, and oral arguments.

Objective:

  • To develop legal research, drafting, and oral advocacy skills
  • To promote analytical thinking and application of legal principles
  • To provide exposure to real courtroom procedures and professional ethics

Participants must:

  • Work in teams of 2–3 members
    • 2 Speakers + 1 Researcher
  • Submit memorials for both sides
  • Participate in oral rounds and researcher’s test
  • Follow prescribed dress code and competition rules

Eligibility:

  • Students enrolled in 3-year LL.B. or 5-year integrated LL.B. programmes
  • Must be from a recognized institution
  • Each institution may send up to 2 teams
