The Centre for WTO Studies (CWS) is a premier think tank functioning under the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade. Established in 2002, the Centre conducts research, training, and policy analysis on WTO and international trade issues. It also provides analytical support to the Government of India in trade negotiations, disputes, and policy formulation.
Position Overview:
The Centre is inviting applications for multiple positions (around 10 vacancies) including Young Professionals, Associates, and Consultants in the fields of law, economics, and public policy. These roles involve working on WTO-related research and international trade issues on a contractual basis.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on WTO and international trade law/policy
- Assist in policy analysis and report preparation
- Support government-related research and trade negotiations
- Work on issues related to economic diplomacy, investment, and trade regulations
- Contribute to academic and policy-oriented publications
Eligibility:
- Master’s degree in Law, Economics, International Law, Public Policy, or related disciplines
- Minimum 55% academic record
- Experience requirements vary by role:
- Consultant: ~8 years relevant experience
- Associate: ~3 years experience
- Young Professional: Entry-level/limited experience
Strong research background in international trade/WTO-related areas preferred
