ABOUT PROGRAM
The Legal Drafting Workshop is focused on equipping law students and young professionals with essential skills in legal drafting, with a special emphasis on matrimonial disputes. The first day will cover the fundamentals of legal drafting—introducing participants to the difference between legal writing and drafting, common errors, and the importance of structure and clarity in pleadings. Sessions will cover how to frame issues, maintain logical flow, and cite case laws correctly, while also providing guidance on the use of affidavits, notices, formatting rules, and e-filing practices. Participants will learn how to avoid ambiguity, draft with accuracy, and follow ethical standards in their written submissions.
The second day dives into the practical aspects of drafting in matrimonial litigation. Participants will be trained on how to draft divorce petitions, maintenance applications, and complaints under the Domestic Violence Act. The session will explain how to structure each document, frame facts and legal grounds effectively, and ensure evidentiary support through annexures. There will also be guidance on replying to Section 9 petitions, structuring custody and visitation clauses, and avoiding contradictions across multiple pleadings. The workshop is designed to be practical, hands-on, and engaging, enabling participants to draft real legal documents with confidence and precision.

WORKSHOP SPEAKER
Adv. Daniyal Siddiqui- Advocate Siddiqui completed his BLS LLB from Rizvi Law College (affiliated with Mumbai University) and later he pursued his Master’s in Constitutional Law from SVKM’s Kirti P. Mehta School of Law in the year 2019 to 20.
He has appeared before multiple High Courts and the Hon’ble Supreme Court, handling a wide range of legal matters. His specializations include criminal law, legal drafting, and constitutional litigation. What sets him apart is his passion for teaching and mentoring—making him not just a skilled advocate, but also a fantastic guide for those entering the legal profession.
