Position Overview:

SEBI offers a Legal Internship Programme at its Head Office in Mumbai, designed for law students interested in securities law, financial regulation, and capital markets. Interns are placed in different legal divisions and work closely with officers on live regulatory and legal issues.

Eligibility Criteria:

Duration:
Minimum 4 weeks (may extend depending on performance and availability).

Education:

  • Students enrolled in a law degree (LL.B./LL.M.) from a Bar Council of India-recognised institution
  • Completed at least:
    • 3 years of a 5-year LL.B. course, or
    • 2 years of a 3-year LL.B. course
  • Minimum 60% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA

Traits:

  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Interest in securities law and financial regulation
  • Ability to work in a professional regulatory environment

Commitment:

  • Full-time availability during internship period
  • Adherence to reporting requirements and submission of internship report/project

Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities:

  • Legal research on SEBI Act, regulations, and securities laws
  • Drafting notes, reports, and legal documents
  • Summarizing ongoing litigation and regulatory developments
  • Assisting in policy analysis and data compilation
  • Preparing internship reports and presentation
