About the Opportunity

SBI is inviting

applications for the posts of Assistant Manager (Law) and Deputy Manager (Law) on a regular basis. Selected candidates will be posted anywhere in India, as per the requirements of the Bank.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Graduate with a degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognised university in India.
Candidates with a 5-year integrated law course from a recognised university may be given preference.

Experience

Assistant Manager (Law):

Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification experience as:
- a practising Advocate enrolled with the Bar Council; or
- a Law Officer in the Legal Department of a Scheduled Commercial Bank; or
- a combination of the above.

Deputy Manager (Law):

Minimum 4 years’ post-qualification experience as:
- a practising Advocate enrolled with the Bar Council; or
- a Law Officer in the Legal Department of a Scheduled Commercial Bank; or
- a combination of the above.

Roles and Responsibilities

Selected candidates will be responsible for:

Rendering legal opinions on various matters.
Drafting, vetting, and negotiating agreements, contracts, deeds, and other legal documents.
Advising operational teams on legal risks and supporting litigation before judicial and quasi-judicial forums.
Coordinating with advocates, statutory and regulatory authorities.
Conducting title investigation of properties (where applicable).
Undertaking any other legal assignments as entrusted by the Bank.

Salary

Assistant Manager (Law): JMGS-I Pay Scale – ₹48,480–85,920
Deputy Manager (Law): MMGS-II Pay Scale – ₹64,820–93,960

In addition to the basic pay, selected candidates will be entitled to DA, HRA, CCA, NPS, medical benefits, LFC, and other admissible allowances as per SBI rules.
