About the Job

KGLC is looking to further expand its team and retain two (2) associates for its Disputes and Corporate Advisory Practice in Bangalore.

Eligibility

  • Law degree from a BCI-recognised university.
  • Prior internship experience in disputes and/or corporate advisory.
  • PQE: 0–3 years.

What They Offer

  • Close, one-on-one mentorship on strategy, drafting, and courtroom/client work, with active feedback on written and oral advocacy.
  • Early responsibility: associates are expected to take ownership of matters, including first drafts of pleadings, research notes, opinions, and participation in client meetings and conferences.
  • Integrated disputes: matters typically cut across commercial litigation, arbitration, advisory and transactional support, allowing associates to see disputes from contract-drafting to enforcement.
  • An expanding office that encourages initiative, independent thinking, and direct engagement with clients, rather than compartmentalised back-end work.

Commensurate with qualifications, experience, and performance.

Application Requirements

– CV (max 3 pages).
– Statement of interest (max 300 words) on your motivation to practice in disputes.
– ONE of the following:
(a) Published writing sample (post Jan 2023); or
(b) Analytical note (800–1,200 words) on a listed judgment or legal topic.

Topic

a.     An act of court shall prejudice no party (actus curiae neminem gravabit), in the context of failure of Trial Court to record reasons for dispensation of notice under Order 39, Rule 3 of the CPC; or
b.     Judicial scrutiny on the bona fide nature of a cloud over title raised by a defendant in a bare injunction suit. Does a plaintiff in a bare injunction suit necessarily require to amend the pleading to a declaration suit merely because title is denied in the Written Statement?

Timelines
