CCI Internship Programme – Competition Law Training for Students (Paid | 1 Month+)

About the Programme

As part of its advocacy function under Section 49 of the Competition Act, 2002, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) conducts targeted outreach and training initiatives for its diverse stakeholders. Among them, students from disciplines such as Law, Economics, Management, and Finance play a key role.

The internship programme is designed to provide students with practical insights into the functioning of competition law in India. Given CCI’s critical role as a market regulator, this hands-on experience prepares students for future professional roles where understanding market competition is essential. The programme consistently attracts top students from leading institutions across the country.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Open to Indian nationals only

  • Students must be from recognized universities or institutions with academic exposure to Competition Law

  • Not open to students who already have placement offers

  • Eligible courses include:

    • Economics & Management: MA/MSc (Economics), final-year students of 5-year integrated programmes, MBA

    • Law:

      • 2nd or 3rd year of a 3-year LLB programme

      • 4th or final year of a 5-year integrated law programme

      • LLM students

    • Regulatory Governance: MA/MSc in Regulatory Governance

    • Professional Courses: Final group students of Chartered Accountancy, Cost Accountancy, or Company Secretary

Application Process

  • Applications must be submitted in the prescribed format (Annexure only)

  • Must include a recommendation letter from a competent authority at the applicant’s academic institution

  • Include a Statement of Purpose (~200 words) detailing your interest and proposed area of study

  • Applications must reach by the 1st of the month preceding the intended internship month

Stipend

A monthly honorarium of ₹15,000 will be provided during the internship.

Duration

The standard duration of the internship is one month, beginning on the first working day of the month. Interns seeking to extend the duration to 2–3 months may do so with proper academic recommendation.
