The Centre for Law and Policy Research (CLPR) is a non-profit organization that works to advance constitutional values through legal research, policy advocacy, and impact litigation. CLPR focuses on addressing systemic discrimination across caste, gender, disability, and other marginalized identities.
About the Role
CLPR is looking to hire a Communications Associate who will report to the Executive Director or Director of Operations. The selected candidate will support the organization’s outreach efforts by managing digital communication, developing visual content, and coordinating public engagement across various projects.
Key Responsibilities
A. Communications and Public Engagement

Design graphics and visuals using tools like Canva (experience with Adobe Suite is a plus)

Assist in the layout and design of newsletters, posters, banners, and brochures

Coordinate with vendors for the printing and production of materials

Manage CLPR’s social media presence on platforms such as Twitter/X, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn
-
Develop and execute social media dissemination strategies for reports, events, blogs, and campaigns

Monitor and report social media analytics to guide engagement strategy

Draft press releases and coordinate with media personnel

Support event planning and logistics, including branding and administrative duties for public events
B. Website Oversight

Collaborate with internal teams to plan and maintain a content schedule for digital platforms

Work with developers and designers to implement technical updates, troubleshoot issues, and enhance web functionality

Track web performance using tools like Google Analytics and generate reports to inform strategy
-
Ensure a consistent tone, design, and user experience across all web platforms
Eligibility Requirements

Proficiency in Canva; familiarity with Adobe design tools is an advantage
-
Experience in managing social media and using content scheduling tools

Understanding of CMS platforms, especially WordPress
-
Strong writing and visual communication skills
-
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively

Able to work both independently and within a team

Interest in law, public policy, or social justice is desirable

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Media, Design, Journalism, or related field
-
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in communications or digital media roles
-
Prior work experience in non-profit or research-based organizations is preferred
Compensation
Salary will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
