About the Chair on Consumer Research and Policy (CCRP)

The Chair on Consumer Research and Policy (CCRP) was established at NUSRL in October 2024 with the support of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Government of India. It is dedicated to promoting education, training, and research in Consumer Law. Acting as a policy think tank, CCRP aims to advance consumer law as a specialized field of study at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Open to students enrolled in recognized law institutions or universities

  • Eligible applicants include:

    • 2nd and 3rd year students of a 3-year LL.B. program

    • 2nd year onwards of a 5-year integrated law program

    • LL.M. students

Skills and Interests Required

  • A strong interest in Consumer Protection Laws

  • Proficiency in both qualitative and quantitative research

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Team-oriented approach with a collaborative mindset

  • Academic honesty and high ethical standards

  • Familiarity with tools like Manupatra and SCC Online

  • Sound understanding of legal principles and analytical thinking

Internship Structure and Guidelines

  • Duration: Minimum of 30 working days

  • A brief induction on consumer law provisions will be conducted on Day 1

  • Interns will:

    • Submit an initial paper/report on a given topic within the first week

    • Present a final report and presentation four days before completion

    • Contribute four original writings on consumer law as part of their output

  • Only 5 interns per month (both online and offline combined)

  • Working hours: 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM (Monday to Friday, excluding lunch break)

  • Any unauthorized absence may lead to an extended internship duration

  • The internship can be terminated for unsatisfactory performance or misconduct

  • Interns must not disclose any confidential information without written consent

  • Certificates will be awarded upon satisfactory completion of all requirements

  • Include a 1,000-word write-up on any topic related to Consumer Protection Laws

  • Apply at least one month in advance, clearly mentioning preferred internship dates

  • Upon acceptance:

    • Submit a recommendation letter from your academic institution (Annexure A)

    • Submit an undertaking as per the format (Annexure B)

    • Applications without these documents will be rejected

Stipend

  • This is an unpaid internship. No honorarium will be provided.
