About the Organisation
The Chambers of Advocate Deep Kumar Mohanty is a reputed legal practice operating in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, Odisha. The chamber is engaged in diverse areas of law, including constitutional matters, company law, property law, and civil procedure. The internship program offers both offline and online working opportunities, providing aspiring law students with exposure to real-world legal practice in multiple forums, including the Orissa High Court, National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), subordinate courts, and various commissions. This is an excellent opportunity for students to gain practical skills, sharpen legal research abilities, and learn directly from experienced professionals in the field.
Nature of Work
The internship is a hybrid program that combines offline and online work, enabling interns to experience both the physical dynamics of legal practice and the flexibility of remote legal tasks. Selected interns will be expected to conduct legal research on various statutes and case laws, assist in drafting petitions, appeals, agreements, and other legal documents, and provide analytical inputs on legal provisions. Exceptional interns will also be given opportunities to handle drafting work for actual cases and participate in high-level legal strategy discussions.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have a working knowledge of key statutes including the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), the Transfer of Property Act, the Constitution of India, the Indian Contract Act, the Code of Civil Procedure (CPC), and the Companies Act. Candidates should also be capable of researching various legal provisions and judgments. Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and dedication to learning will be key to excelling in this role.

Who Can Apply
Any law student meeting the eligibility requirements and demonstrating a keen interest in practical legal training is encouraged to apply. This internship is particularly suited for students who wish to gain exposure to courtroom practice, drafting, and client interaction while expanding their knowledge across multiple legal domains.
Location
The work will be based in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, Odisha, with provisions for online assignments when required.
Stipend
The stipend will be performance-based, ensuring that exceptional contributions are recognized and rewarded.
Additional Benefits
Outstanding interns will receive a letter of recommendation. Deserving candidates will also be provided with valuable legal resources, including free law e-books containing concise summaries of landmark judgments, autobiographies of judges, contract drafting guides, and legal magazines. Interns will learn drafting skills for various petitions, appeals, and agreements, as well as gain exposure to proceedings in the Orissa High Court, NCLT, subordinate courts, and commissions. They will sharpen their legal research skills using online legal databases, learn about case procedures from filing to disposal, gain insights into client management, and witness courtroom hearings first-hand.
Internship Duration
The internship will last for one month, either in September 2025 or October 2025. Depending on performance, it may be extended to two months.
