Eligibility
The internship is open to law students currently pursuing an LLB or BA LLB, starting from the second year of their degree programme. Ideal candidates should demonstrate strong research abilities, sound legal writing, and effective communication skills. A genuine interest in litigation and related legal services is essential, as the work involves exposure to a variety of practice areas including civil, criminal, arbitration, and debt recovery. Candidates should also be capable of working both independently and in a team environment, showing initiative and adaptability in handling multiple tasks. Prior experience is not mandatory, but commitment, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn will be highly valued during the selection process.
Role
As an intern at Kumar Law Firm, you will gain first-hand exposure to the practical functioning of the legal profession. Your role will involve conducting in-depth legal research and assisting in drafting petitions, pleadings, and other legal documents. You will have the opportunity to observe court proceedings and, where appropriate, assist advocates during hearings. Interns will also contribute to case management, preparation of briefs, and summarizing relevant case law. Furthermore, you may collaborate with the team during client meetings, offering valuable insights into client-lawyer interactions and professional communication. This role is designed to help interns bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world legal practice, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience.
