Position Overview:
BAE Systems is seeking a Paralegal to join its Naval Ships In-House Legal Team. This role involves supporting commercial contracting, compliance, and data protection matters within a fast-paced, high-impact environment. The position offers exposure to complex legal work tied to cutting-edge engineering and defence programmes.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Drafting, reviewing, and revising a wide range of commercial contracts
- Supporting contract negotiations under solicitor supervision
- Handling data protection tasks, including responses to data subject access requests
- Implementing and maintaining internal compliance policies and procedures
- Developing and updating contract templates and guidance materials
- Conducting legal research and presenting findings to legal and business stakeholders
Eligibility:
- Law degree, GDL, or CILEX qualification (English or Scottish law)
- Experience in paralegal work or commercial contracting with knowledge of contract law
- Familiarity with compliance procedures and policies
- Experience in data protection (preferred)
- Exposure to defence or regulated environments (advantageous)
- Strong analytical, drafting, and communication skills
