Position Overview:
The Paralegal (Debt Recovery) will support the in-house legal function by managing landlord and tenant disputes, civil litigation matters, and debt recovery proceedings. The role involves liaising with external solicitors, handling evidential and administrative tasks, and progressing contentious matters from instruction through to resolution.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Acting as the primary point of contact with external solicitors, issuing instructions and supporting cases through hearings and trial
- Managing contentious Landlord & Tenant, civil litigation, and debt recovery matters end-to-end
- Preparing cases by gathering evidence, analysing facts, and building structured case files
- Collaborating with Credit Control and Property Management teams to resolve disputes efficiently
- Producing concise legal reports, conducting focused legal research, and obtaining witness statements
- Providing administrative support including correspondence management, calls, and court attendance where required
Eligibility:
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Sound knowledge of law and litigation processes
- Proficiency in electronic document management and filing systems
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across diverse teams
- Must have the right to live and work in the UK without restrictions
