Eligibility

To be considered for this position, candidates must hold at least a high school diploma or equivalent, with 3–4 years of prior Legal Administrative Assistant (LAA) experience or an equivalent background in legal administrative support. While college or business school experience is preferred, candidates should possess strong technical skills, particularly in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and document management systems such as FileSite or WorkSite. Familiarity with PowerPoint and prior law firm experience are additional advantages. The role requires excellent organizational abilities, time management, and attention to detail. Candidates should demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, a professional demeanor, and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Role

The Legal Administrative Assistant (LAA) is responsible for producing a wide range of legal work product in support of attorneys and paralegals. Key responsibilities include drafting and modifying legal documents, coordinating filing and e-filing processes, managing correspondence, organizing attorney schedules, and handling travel arrangements. The LAA will also support client billing by preparing time entries, processing expenses, and assisting with budget monitoring. Maintaining paper and electronic files, reviewing incoming and outgoing mail, and ensuring compliance with firm policies are essential parts of the role. Beyond administrative tasks, the position requires proactive support of attorneys by anticipating their needs and ensuring deadlines are met. This is primarily an in-office position, requiring at least three days per week on-site.
