August 12, 2025by canonsphere

About Airbnb

Founded in 2007, Airbnb began when two hosts welcomed three guests into their San Francisco home. Today, it has grown into a global community of over five million hosts, welcoming more than two billion guests across nearly every country. Airbnb connects people to unique stays and experiences, allowing guests to engage with communities in an authentic and meaningful way. Our legal department operates globally, working with diverse colleagues around the world. We are seeking adaptable and collaborative individuals who embody Airbnb’s core values, approach complex legal matters with both local and global perspectives, and embrace cultural differences with sensitivity and professionalism.

The Team You Will Join

You will be part of Airbnb’s Product & Marketing Legal Team, a dynamic group that supports a wide range of internal partners including product, marketing, communications, engineering, operations, data science, trust & safety, and Airbnb.org (our social impact initiative). The team plays a critical role in guiding business decisions with legal insight, ensuring compliance, and fostering innovation. This role involves creating and refining operational processes, maintaining legal records, conducting research, and providing support on commercial contracts. Collaboration, adaptability, and a proactive approach will be key to your success in this environment.

Your Impact in the Role

As a Legal Assistant, you will help streamline legal workflows, improve knowledge management systems, and support operational excellence within the Product & Marketing Legal Team. You will contribute to special projects, manage templates and records, and provide legal research on various issues. Your work will help the legal team respond more efficiently to internal client needs while ensuring high standards of quality and compliance. This position is perfect for someone eager to learn about in-house legal practice, comfortable with multitasking, and ready to take ownership of tasks in a fast-paced, ever-changing business environment.

A Typical Day

On any given day, you might improve internal intake and review processes for legal requests, maintain and update contract templates, support budget tracking, or prepare presentation decks for internal stakeholders. You may assist with regulatory filings, draft simple agreements, and provide research support on product and marketing regulations. You will interact with a variety of business teams, learning about Airbnb’s operations while helping ensure that legal guidance is well-documented, accessible, and actionable. No two days will be the same, and you’ll have the opportunity to develop expertise in multiple functional areas of the company.

What We’re Looking For

We welcome applicants with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, ideally with an interest in pursuing a legal career. Experience in a law firm, corporate legal department, or tech company is an advantage but not required. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, resourceful, and able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines without compromising on quality. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in Google Suite or a willingness to quickly learn new tools. A team-oriented mindset, adaptability, professionalism, and curiosity are key to thriving in this role.

Work Location & Flexibility

This position is remote-eligible within the United States, with occasional in-person meetings or offsite participation as agreed with your manager. Candidates must reside in a state where Airbnb has a registered entity. As our operational footprint evolves, eligible states may change, so applicants should confirm their eligibility during the hiring process. The role provides flexibility while ensuring you remain connected to your team and integrated into Airbnb’s collaborative work culture.

Our Commitment to Inclusion

At Airbnb, diversity and belonging are not just values—they are part of how we operate every day. We know that innovation thrives in an inclusive environment where all perspectives are heard and respected. We encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds and experiences. We are also committed to a disability-inclusive hiring process and provide reasonable accommodations to ensure that every applicant has equal access to opportunities.

Compensation & Benefits

This role offers a base salary range of $65,000–$77,000 USD, depending on skills, experience, and market factors. Additional benefits may include bonuses, equity grants, comprehensive healthcare, and Employee Travel Credits. Our compensation philosophy is designed to be competitive while reflecting the value of each team member’s contributions to Airbnb’s mission.
