About the Opportunity
IndiaLaw LLP is currently looking to hire a Real Estate Associate for its Corporate Real Estate team based at Mumbai Fort.
This role is non-litigation in nature and focuses mainly on transactional work, legal advisory, and regulatory compliance related to commercial, industrial, and residential real estate transactions.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- LL.B. degree from a recognised university (additional certifications in real estate law or RERA will be an added advantage)
- 1–2 years of post-qualification experience in real estate transactional work (non-litigation), preferably with a law firm or corporate legal department
- Strong legal drafting and negotiation skills
- Knowledge of land laws, RERA regulations, stamp duty provisions, and property registration procedures
- Excellent communication skills and ability to handle clients effectively
- Capability to manage multiple tasks independently and work within deadlines
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be expected to:
- Carry out legal due diligence and title verification for properties across different jurisdictions
- Draft, review, and negotiate real estate documents such as lease deeds, leave and license agreements, sale or conveyance deeds, development agreements, MoUs, and term sheets
- Provide legal advice on land acquisition, joint development arrangements, and regulatory compliance, including matters related to RERA, stamp duty, and registration laws
- Work closely with clients, developers, and government authorities for documentation, approvals, and property registrations
- Prepare legal opinions, notes, and transaction summaries for internal reference and client use
- Keep track of updates in real estate laws, municipal regulations, and prevailing industry practices
