Position Overview

We are seeking a Legal Counsel – Commercial Law for Siemens Energy India Limited (SEIL). This role involves providing legal support for our industrial products and infrastructure projects, as well as advising on litigation, compliance, and regulatory matters.

Key Responsibilities

Offer comprehensive legal support to management and project teams, particularly in contract management and claim resolution.
Provide timely, practical legal advice on various issues, including contract law, competition law, insolvency, and sale of goods.
Draft, negotiate, and review a wide range of contracts—from pre-bid and consortium agreements to supply, service, and government contracts.
Support strategic decisions on claims and contract issues involving customers, suppliers, and partners.
Oversee litigations—coordinate with external counsel and represent the organization in legal proceedings.
Develop and manage standard agreement templates and deliver legal training sessions for internal stakeholders.

Additional Responsibilities

Maintain a strong business and ethics orientation, participating in internal initiatives and special legal projects.
Advise on regulatory and compliance matters for both Indian and international operations.
Balance the expectations of multiple stakeholders, collaborating with cross-border teams.

Preferred Qualifications and Attributes

Law degree from a recognized Indian or international law school, with a minimum of 4 years of post-qualification experience.
Strong foundation in contract drafting, litigation, and negotiation; prior exposure to claim management is desirable.
Experience with multinational teams or law firms handling international contracts is a plus.
Advanced communication and legal drafting skills in English.
Solution-focused mindset, with high standards of integrity, ownership, and professional ethics.
Willingness to travel occasionally or frequently, depending on business needs.
