Role Overview
The Legal Manager will lead and manage all legal functions related to property, corporate, civil, real estate, and intellectual property laws. The role involves providing strategic legal advice to management, ensuring regulatory compliance, mitigating risks, and safeguarding the organization’s legal interests. This position reports directly to the CFO.
Key Responsibilities
Property & Real Estate Law

Draft, review, and negotiate lease agreements, sale deeds, MoUs, title documents, and related property documents.

Conduct legal due diligence on properties, including title verification, encumbrance checks, and land-use permissions.

Oversee land acquisition, lease renewals, property tax matters, and registration processes.

Coordinate with external counsels, landowners, and government bodies on property-related issues.
Corporate Law & Compliance

Ensure compliance with Companies Act, FEMA, SEBI regulations, and corporate governance standards.

Draft and vet board resolutions, shareholders’ agreements, joint venture agreements, and other corporate documents.

Advise on mergers, acquisitions, restructuring, and regulatory filings.

Assist in secretarial functions in collaboration with the Company Secretary.
Civil & Contractual Matters

Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, vendor agreements, NDAs, and service agreements.

Handle legal notices, represent the company in civil disputes, and manage litigation records.

Support arbitration and litigation matters while liaising with external legal counsels for court representation.
Trademarks & Intellectual Property

Manage trademark registrations, renewals, and enforcement of IP rights.

Address infringements, oppositions, and maintain the company’s IP portfolio in coordination with IP consultants.
Risk Management & Legal Advisory

Provide legal opinions and develop risk mitigation strategies for internal stakeholders.

Support audits, investigations, and compliance programs.

Conduct training sessions for internal teams on legal and regulatory developments.
Key Skills & Qualifications

LLB/LLM from a reputed law school.

Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in corporate legal roles, preferably in manufacturing, FMCG, or real estate sectors.

Expertise in property, corporate, civil, and IP laws.

Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.

Proven track record in managing litigation and working with external legal counsels.

High integrity, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
-
Proficiency in Tamil is mandatory.
