About the Organization
The office of Advocate Vidyut Kayarkar is offering a litigation-focused internship designed for motivated law students who wish to build a strong foundation in courtroom practice and legal research. The work primarily involves matters before the Supreme Court of India, the Delhi High Court, District Courts, and various Tribunals in Delhi. The practice is known for its emphasis on thorough preparation, high-quality drafting, and strategic advocacy. Interns will gain exposure to complex cases and procedural intricacies of litigation, while also developing professional discipline and legal acumen. This program is especially valuable for students who are serious about pursuing litigation as a career path.
Eligibility
The internship is open to law students who meet specific academic and experiential criteria. Eligible candidates include 4th or 5th-year students enrolled in a five-year integrated LL.B. program or final-year students pursuing a three-year LL.B. course. To ensure that applicants are equipped for the rigor of litigation practice, candidates must also have completed at least two prior internships in litigation offices or law firms. Strong research abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication skills are essential for this role. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate a genuine interest in litigation, commitment to learning, and readiness to take on real-world legal challenges.
Role
Interns will play an active role in supporting litigation work at multiple levels of the judiciary. Core responsibilities include conducting in-depth legal research across diverse areas of law, assisting in the drafting of pleadings, written submissions, and other legal documents, and attending court proceedings before the Supreme Court, Delhi High Court, District Courts, and Tribunals. Interns will also be exposed to case preparation, procedural aspects, and litigation strategy under the guidance of an experienced advocate. The role emphasizes learning by doing—students will observe live arguments, analyze case laws, and refine their drafting skills, making this internship a comprehensive training ground for future litigators.
