About the Opportunity

The Chambers of Urvi Mohan is inviting applications for a long-term paid assessment internship lasting 3 to 4 months. This internship is designed for law students seeking extensive practical exposure to real-life legal work. The working hours begin at 9:30/10:00 AM onwards, offering interns a structured environment to engage in meaningful legal tasks. This opportunity provides a platform for students to develop essential professional skills while working closely with an experienced legal team. It is an ideal programme for students looking for hands-on training in litigation and advisory matters while receiving a competitive stipend.

Mode

The internship will be conducted in physical mode, requiring interns to be present at the chambers daily. Working on-site ensures that students gain first-hand experience of court proceedings, client interactions, and the day-to-day functioning of a litigation practice. The chamber values personal mentorship and collaborative work, which is best achieved through physical engagement. This format allows interns to learn in a dynamic setting, receive real-time feedback, and better understand the professional etiquette and practical aspects of working in a legal office.

Areas of Practice

The Chambers of Urvi Mohan specialises in labour, employment, and matrimonial disputes, handling matters for both private clients and legal aid panels at the Patiala House Court and the Delhi High Court. Additionally, the chamber undertakes government briefs for the Delhi Government in civil matters, which include GST/VAT, revenue cases, RCS, and other administrative issues. This diverse practice area gives interns exposure to both private and public law matters, making it a valuable learning opportunity for those interested in litigation, statutory interpretation, and government advisory work.

Roles and Responsibilities

Interns will gain hands-on experience in drafting petitions and applications, preparing notes and compilations, conducting detailed legal research, and assisting in case preparation. The internship is designed to provide interns with ample learning opportunities while allowing them to focus on individual growth. Performance-based exposure will ensure that diligent and committed interns get to work on significant aspects of ongoing cases, helping them develop practical skills that go beyond academic knowledge.

Eligibility Criteria

The internship is open to 4th and 5th-year law students who possess strong research and drafting skills, along with a genuine willingness to learn. Candidates must demonstrate enthusiasm for litigation and a proactive approach to taking on responsibilities. Good communication skills, an analytical mindset, and attention to detail will be valuable assets for interns to excel during the internship period.

Stipend

Selected interns will receive a competitive stipend, which will be in line with current market standards. The paid nature of the internship reflects the chamber’s commitment to valuing the contributions of interns while ensuring they gain substantial professional experience.

How to Apply?

Interested candidates can apply by sending an email to chambersurvimohan@gmail.com with their CV and a brief description of themselves. Applications sent to any other address will not be considered. Early applications are encouraged as the chamber has limited slots for interns.
