About Civis
The Civic Innovation Foundation, through its platform Civis, facilitates meaningful engagement between citizens and the Government on upcoming laws and policies. Civis empowers people to contribute their views on legal and policy reforms, helping build transparent and participatory governance.
Since its inception in 2018, Civis has conducted over 300 public consultations, directly impacting more than 16,600 individuals. The organization has received notable recognition, including the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia, Agami Prize for Legal Innovation, D-Prize, and accolades from the Maharashtra StartUp Summit and Vibrant Gujarat StartUp Summit.
About the Internship
Civis is now accepting applications for the upcoming batch of its Policy Leaders Internship Programme. The internship offers immersive training on the public consultation process, providing valuable exposure to the policymaking landscape in India.
Eligibility

Open to law and public policy students in their third year or above.
Roles and Responsibilities
Interns will engage in the following activities:

Translating complex draft laws and policies into simplified summaries for public awareness.

Performing in-depth research on proposed legislation and its implications.

Writing and potentially publishing policy articles and analytical pieces on the Civis blog or other platforms.

Gaining practical experience in public consultation frameworks and the role of civic participation in lawmaking.

Developing a strong foundational understanding of public policy processes in India.
