About the Opportunity
AQUILAW is currently inviting applications for the position of Senior Associate to join its Mumbai office. This role is a fantastic opportunity for skilled legal professionals with a strong background in dispute resolution. The Senior Associate will handle a wide range of civil litigation matters, including property disputes, constitutional law cases, commercial agreements, and debt recovery issues. The role also involves managing case documentation, conducting thorough legal research, and ensuring compliance with court procedures. Reporting will be directly to Partner Neerav Merchant and the Principal Associate, providing mentorship and clear growth opportunities. A solutions-oriented, client-first attitude is essential to thrive in this challenging and rewarding position.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have 3 to 4 years of post-qualification experience (PQE). The ideal candidate will have thorough familiarity with:

Filing procedures and related processes before the Bombay High Court and City Civil Court

Managing complex commercial disputes

Filing and managing miscellaneous and interim applications

Applying knowledge of commercial laws

Having at least basic exposure to criminal litigation will be advantageous
Additionally, candidates should demonstrate fluency in English, Hindi, and Marathi, along with strong analytical and client-handling skills. Preference will be given to candidates born, brought up, and educated in Mumbai, to ensure a deep understanding of the local legal landscape and culture.
