Why Join Us
At Ventra Health, we believe exceptional work deserves exceptional rewards. As part of our Rewards & Recognition program, this internship is eligible for our performance-based incentive plan. We also encourage a culture of growth and collaboration—whether you are joining our team directly or referring a talented friend for an open position, we value your contribution and offer referral bonuses. Working with us means gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced, supportive environment where learning is constant and contributions are recognised. This is your opportunity to work alongside experienced legal professionals in a company that values integrity, innovation, and teamwork.
About the Role
The Legal Intern will play a vital role in supporting Ventra’s in-house corporate legal department. Your work will include reviewing, drafting, and managing contracts, organising legal consents, performing corporate compliance tasks, and conducting legal research, particularly in healthcare-related areas. You will contribute to drafting confidentiality agreements, vendor and customer contracts, legal correspondence, and compliance reports. In addition, you will assist in maintaining state filings, managing business licences, and supporting various legal and compliance projects. While much of the work can be performed remotely, there may be occasional in-office requirements, allowing you to experience both virtual and direct collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Your primary tasks will include conducting legal research, reviewing customer and vendor agreements, drafting and logging contracts, and preparing legal correspondence. You will help manage corporate filings, licences, and compliance records while also contributing to drafting reports and supporting ongoing projects. This role provides the chance to engage in the full spectrum of in-house legal work, from reviewing commercial agreements to understanding state and federal compliance obligations. You will work closely with senior legal team members, gaining insight into real-world corporate legal operations within the healthcare sector. This is a hands-on role designed to strengthen both technical and practical skills.
Eligibility & Skills
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree and be currently enrolled as a second or third-year student in an accredited law school pursuing a Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Prior experience in contract review, corporate law, or healthcare-related legal work is advantageous. The ideal candidate is highly organised, detail-oriented, and demonstrates strong ethical judgment. Essential skills include the ability to interpret and apply laws and regulations, communicate professionally with diverse stakeholders, and manage multiple priorities effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools like Westlaw is expected. The role calls for a proactive, independent, and solution-focused mindset.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation will be determined based on several factors, including location, experience, qualifications, and skill set. In addition to a competitive base pay, this internship is eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus as per company policy. Beyond monetary rewards, you will gain valuable experience working with a highly skilled legal team in a respected healthcare solutions company. Our inclusive, collaborative work culture ensures that interns are not just observers but active contributors to meaningful legal and compliance projects that impact our business operations.
