Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai (MNLU Mumbai), established under the Maharashtra National Law University Act, 2014 on 20th March 2014, is one of India’s premier National Law Universities. The University is dedicated to academic excellence, legal research, and social justice.
The Pro Bono Club of MNLU Mumbai was established by the Department of Justice, Government of India. The Club focuses on promoting legal awareness, community service, and access to justice, while actively engaging students in pro-bono legal work through structured programs and collaborations.
Position Overview
The Pro Bono Club, MNLU Mumbai invites applications for Full-Time Interns on a rolling basis to assist in its ongoing initiatives, projects, and outreach activities related to pro-bono legal services.
Eligibility Criteria
Duration:
- Minimum duration of 4 weeks
- Preference for candidates available for longer durations
Education:
- Law students (UG/PG) from recognized institutions
Traits:
- Strong interest in social justice and legal aid
- Good research and drafting skills
- Proactive, responsible, and committed attitude
Commitment:
- Willingness to actively participate in pro-bono initiatives and community-oriented legal work
Areas of Work / Key Responsibilities
- Assisting in the Nyaya Bandhu (Pro-Bono Legal Services) Programme
- Supporting pro-bono projects involving government departments, lawyers, and NGOs
- Legal research and documentation
- Assisting in awareness initiatives and community engagement projects
- Coordinating with governmental and private organizations under the Assisted Model
