Position Overview:
QCL is seeking a Thai-Speaking Paralegal to join its Immigration team in Manchester. The role involves managing immigration casework, providing client advisory and advocacy services, and supporting a wide range of UK immigration applications. This position is suited for a detail-oriented and proactive candidate looking to build expertise in immigration law within a fast-growing legal practice.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Handle casework and provide advocacy in various immigration matters
- Assist clients in resolving immigration issues through liaison with relevant authorities and organisations
- Advise clients and schedule follow-up consultations
- Manage an independent caseload (approx. 40 cases)
- Prepare and submit applications (visa, leave to remain, settlement, business immigration)
- Lodge appeals and draft appeal grounds
- Handle bail applications and asylum claims
- Represent clients in correspondence and during UKVI interviews
- Ensure timely billing and file management
- Participate in client outreach and business development initiatives
- Stay updated with changes in immigration laws and regulations
- Undertake training to meet IAA regulatory standards
Eligibility:
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Paralegal (preferably in immigration law)
- Law degree preferred
- Proficiency in English and Thai (mandatory)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume caseloads
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced legal environment
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional attitude with a proactive, “can-do” approach
- Work authorization in the United Kingdom (required)
