Position Overview
Seeking experienced, highly autonomous Associate Attorney for role focused almost exclusively on business and commercial litigation.
Note: This is NOT a general practice. Firm does NOT handle personal injury, insurance defense, family law, or general torts.
Key Responsibilities
- Legal Research & Strategy: Deep-dive research via Westlaw and LexisNexis for complex commercial disputes
- Drafting & Pleadings: Draft/review motions, briefs, discovery, commercial agreements
- Docket & Case Management: Handle electronic filings via NYSCEF system
- Remote Representation: Represent clients in remote court appearances, depositions
- Client & Case Ownership: Move cases independently from intake through resolution with Mr. Shapiro
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from accredited law school
- Bar Admission: Active license in good standing with New York State Bar. NJ Bar is a strong plus
- Experience: 5+ years dedicated experience in corporate law, commercial transactions, or business litigation
- Technical: Advanced proficiency with Westlaw, LexisNexis, NYSCEF. Comfort with Zoom, Teams, secure cloud storage
- Skills: Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, legal writing. Must distill complex issues into persuasive arguments
- Work Style: Proven ability to work independently, manage tight court deadlines, high self-discipline in remote setting

- Location: Remote, Global/Outside U.S. welcome
- Type: Full-Time
- Flexibility: 100% remote. Must overlap with U.S. Eastern Standard Time (EST) for hearings and firm alignment
