WORK ASSIGNED
- What kind of tasks were assigned to you during the internship? Which areas of law did you primarily work on (e.g., criminal, civil, corporate, IPR, etc.)?
Various task were assigned during the internship. Such as court visit, case file analysis, research on legal questions, drafting petitions and understanding difference between new criminal laws and old criminal laws.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
- What were the most valuable legal skills you developed during the internship?
I have gained many skills during the internship such as communication, legal research, case analysis and legal drafting.
- Mention any new software/tools or legal databases you learned to use (e.g., Manupatra, SCC Online, etc.)
I used several tools during the internship period and enhanced my skills in it. Some of used are Ecourts software to get details about a case, Latest Laws software to get bare acts and SCC online for legal research.
- Describe a challenging task or assignment and how you approached it.
One of the challenging task given during internship was a legal question. Can 405 IPC and 415 IPC can be charged in a case jointly. This was a tricky legal question and it is still a debatable one. Finding it’s answer through research was a really hard one and somehow we managed to get a appropriate answer to it. I gone through judicial precedents to get this answer.
PROFESSIONAL ENVIRONMENT
- What did you observe about the work culture and client management at the firm?
The office was one of the busiest in the court complex building. Morning to evening, there would be people for various reasons. Even there is busy traffic, the office doesn’t lack in its functions. Every work will be completed in a timely manner. The work culture and the client management is really good in the office.
- Were you given constructive feedback during the internship?
Yes, all my works were analysed and feedback were given. The objective of task was to study various things rather than doing the work. So the feedbacks were constructive.
OVERALL EXPERIENCE & SUGGESTIONS
- What did you enjoy the most during your internship?
The most enjoying part of the internship was legal research. It helps to understand new informations and insights. And my supervisor always helps to understand confusing legal aspects.
- What improvements would you suggest for the internship program at the firm?
I think the current internship program was good.
