Position Overview:
The role is for a Legal Assistant within the Council’s Legal Team. The selected candidate will support lawyers in handling routine legal matters, preparing documentation, and assisting with fast-paced legal queries. This position offers exposure to diverse areas of public law and local governance.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparation of legal bundles and documentation
- Draft applications, consent orders, and other legal documents
- Support lawyers with routine matters and ad-hoc legal queries
- Process fee notes and liaise with chambers (desirable skill)
- Provide administrative and operational support to the legal team
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced and flexible environment
Eligibility:
- Completion of Legal Practice Course (LPC) or both SQE1 and SQE2
- Relevant experience in a legal environment preferred
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks
- Strong drafting and organisational skills
- Motivation to work in public sector legal services
