Key Responsibilities

Design and manage the legal infrastructure for Deel’s global payments operations

Provide strategic legal guidance on payments products, regulatory obligations, and licensing

Act as the key legal partner to product and compliance teams, embedding risk management into innovation

Create and maintain scalable legal and compliance processes

Monitor and interpret global legal and regulatory developments impacting payments
-
Support the international movement of employees for business travel

Collaborate with external counsel and cross-regional internal teams
Desired Skills and Experience
-
Minimum 5 years of legal experience, with at least 1–2 years in payments, fintech, lending, or banking
-
JD, LLB, LLM, or equivalent legal qualification

Fluency in English (additional languages a plus)

Experience navigating regulated industries and advising on legal frameworks

Ability to distill complex legal matters into clear, actionable advice

Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset

Effective communicator and team collaborator across global regions

Comfortable in fast-paced, high-growth environments
