Role Overview
We are looking for a resourceful Legal Associate to join our Legal & Compliance team at the Hyderabad office. This team is responsible for handling legal risk assessment, contract review, litigation support, employment law matters, real estate transactions, and intellectual property issues. This role will require collaboration with both domestic and international legal professionals within the firm.
Key Responsibilities

Review and analyze data evaluation and license agreements

Conduct risk assessments, focusing on Material Nonpublic Information (MNPI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII)

Support compliance projects including consultant assessments and annual reviews of data vendors

Collaborate with attorneys from other D. E. Shaw offices on agreements and legal initiatives
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Law

12 to 16 months of legal experience, particularly in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts (especially licensing and tech agreements)

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Excellent judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently
