Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a legal and commercial advisor to support Equinix’s operations in India.
- Draft, review, and negotiate customer agreements locally and across the global business.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments and seniority levels to ensure alignment with business and legal objectives.
- Lead contract negotiations while ensuring adherence to internal policies and protecting company interests, all while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Manage the entire contract lifecycle, including tracking status and maintaining updates in the contract management system.
- Respond to customer information requests, support the bidding process, and deliver prompt and precise legal documentation.
- Offer legal advice on customer contracts and transactions, and handle litigation or insurance matters when needed.
- Support business units on various legal matters including early terminations, price adjustments, renewals, novations, and amendments.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel as necessary.
- Provide legal support in M&A transactions, including due diligence and post-acquisition integration.
- Advise on Indian regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance and addressing potential policy violations through appropriate channels.
- Conduct legal training sessions and presentations for sales and related teams on contract processes, compliance, laws, and negotiation strategies.
- Develop and update legal templates for new products and policy changes.
- Handle other contract-related duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Commercial Transactions or General Counsel.
- Maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies and government authorities.
- Contribute to the broader global legal team by participating in cross-functional initiatives, commercial deals, and corporate matters as required.
Eligibility Criteria
- Education: Law degree from a recognized university.
- Professional Enrollment: Must be licensed to practice law in India.
- Experience: 8–10 years of post-qualification experience in India, with some background in a reputable law firm. In-house legal experience at an MNC is preferred.
