Location: Mumbai, India
We are looking to hire an on-site Legal Counsel for our Medical Devices division in India, reporting to the Country Lead Counsel. This role will support Johnson & Johnson Medical India (JJMI) in regulatory, transactional, and compliance matters.
Key Responsibilities

Offer strategic legal advice to JJMI’s Medical Devices business

Advise Franchise Leaders on legal matters and risk mitigation strategies

Assist in legal strategy for Go-To-Market models and New Product Launches
-
Support the management of legal risks, including training and preventive actions
-
Influence business decisions through sound legal counsel and clear communication
-
Ensure legal compliance with healthcare laws, regulations, and industry codes
-
Collaborate on M&A and licensing activities as guided by the Country Lead
-
Supervise external legal counsel and manage related budgets
-
Oversee litigation, disputes, and investigations relevant to business operations

Provide training and guidance on internal policies, such as:

Code of Business Conduct
-
Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA)

Corporate Integrity Agreements

Health Care Compliance requirements

Collaborate with global and regional legal teams for alignment and knowledge sharing

Advise on copy clearance and digital/legal reviews for online activities
Required Qualifications
-
LL.B. or LL.M. from a reputed Indian university or law school
-
6 to 10 years of Post Qualification Experience (PQE)
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
-
Experience in multinational corporations or the healthcare sector is preferred
-
Prior exposure to advising senior leadership is an advantage
