About the Organisation
The Criminal Justice & Police Accountability Project (CJPA) is a litigation and research-based initiative committed to challenging the systemic criminalisation of marginalised communities. The organisation works toward ensuring transparency and accountability within the criminal justice system through strategic legal interventions.
Eligibility

Law students in their penultimate or final year are encouraged to apply.

Applicants must have proficiency in reading and writing Hindi.

Preference will be given to candidates currently residing in Madhya Pradesh.

This opportunity is exclusively open to individuals from Adivasi, Dalit, Vimukta, Nomadic, other Bahujan, and Pasmanda Muslim communities.
Nature of Internship
CJPA is seeking legal interns for a four-month engagement from July to October 2025, including a mandatory one-month in-person component. Interns will work on research related to the over-criminalisation of marginalised groups and assist in litigation processes at the Trial Court and High Court levels.
Location
The internship will be conducted in hybrid mode – primarily remote with one month of compulsory on-site work in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
Duration
4 months (July to October 2025)
Time Commitment: 20–25 hours per week
Stipend
A monthly stipend of ₹8,000 will be provided to selected interns.
