OBJECTIVES

  • Free Speech and Blasphemy Laws: To understand public perspectives on the need for reform in blasphemy laws, with a view to balancing freedom of speech and protection of religious sentiments in India.
  • Hate Speech: To understand public opinion on the adequacy and effectiveness of existing legal provisions addressing hate speech in India.
  • Judicial Independence:To assess perceptions regarding the impact of nepotism and institutional practices on the independence of the judiciary in India.
  • Women’s Safety:To examine public views on the effectiveness of existing legal frameworks in addressing sexual offences and ensuring women’s safety.
  • False Rape Cases:To understand opinions on how the legal system addresses allegations of false rape cases and whether existing safeguards and penalties are considered adequate
  • Anti-Trafficking Laws:To gather perspectives on the effectiveness of current anti-trafficking laws and their implementation in preventing human trafficking.
  • Fast-Track Court System:To evaluate public perceptions of the effectiveness of fast-track courts in reducing case pendency and improving access to timely justice.
