About Organiser
Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Patiala (RGNUL) is an autonomous National Law University established in 2006 under the reforms initiated by the Bar Council of India. The University has earned a strong pan-India reputation for excellence in legal education and research.
RGNUL was the first NLU to receive NAAC ‘A’ Grade accreditation (2015) and is among the few NLUs granted autonomous status by the UGC (2018). It has consistently been ranked among the Top 10 Law Schools in India under the NIRF rankings.
The event is organised by the RGNUL Moot Court Committee, one of the most active committees of the University, dedicated to fostering a strong mooting culture and facilitating participation in prestigious national and international moot court competitions.
About the Event
The RGNUL Moot Court Committee is organising its upcoming moot court competition in a hybrid format, combining online and on-campus rounds. The competition aims to promote advocacy skills, legal research, and mooting excellence among undergraduate law students across India.
Date and Venue
- Preliminary & Octa Final Rounds: 4 April 2026 (Online)
- Advanced Rounds: 17 & 18 April 2026 (On Campus)
- Venue for Advanced Rounds: RGNUL Campus, Patiala
Team Composition
- Each team shall consist of three (3) students
- All participants must be full-time undergraduate law students enrolled in a Bar Council of India–recognized university
Awards
- Details regarding awards, prizes, and recognitions shall be communicated separately by the organisers
Important Dates
- Preliminary & Octa Final Rounds: 4 April 2026
- Advanced Rounds: 17–18 April 2026
Miscellaneous
- Accommodation during the Advanced Rounds will be provided for 3 days (16th, 17th & 18th April 2026)
- The competition will be conducted in hybrid mode
Registration Fees
- Preliminary Rounds: INR 3,000 + GST (payable at registration)
- Accommodation Fee (Advanced Rounds): INR 6,000 + GST
(Payable only after qualifying for Advanced Rounds; inclusive of accommodation)
