Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will provide critical legal and operational support to ensure smooth and compliant functioning across departments. You will assist in drafting legal notices, internal communications, and advisory notes, while supporting multiple functions including HR, Finance, and Operations. Your responsibilities will include handling legal filings, documentation processes, and maintaining legal databases. As part of the legal operations function, you’ll help improve workflows and ensure all legal tasks are tracked efficiently. The role requires close collaboration with multiple teams to align legal practices with business goals, emphasizing proactive communication and organizational agility.
Contract Management Duties
As a central part of your role, you’ll handle the entire lifecycle of contracts – from drafting and reviewing to negotiation and renewal. You will work on a wide range of agreements, such as vendor contracts, NDAs, MSAs, and service agreements. The objective is to ensure legal integrity while maintaining alignment with business objectives. You’ll be expected to monitor contractual milestones, track renewals, and maintain organized contract records. Your role will also involve identifying areas of legal risk in contracts and ensuring they meet internal policies and regulatory frameworks across India, the US, and Canada.
Compliance and Risk Oversight
You will assist with legal and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions by managing licenses, certifications, and risk mitigation strategies. This includes staying updated with legal changes in India, the US, and Canada and conducting regular risk assessments on contracts and internal practices. You will help shape and implement compliance policies to strengthen the organization’s regulatory framework. This requires a thorough understanding of employment, tax, and corporate law. Your input will be vital in protecting the company’s legal interests and ensuring that the company operates within established legal boundaries.
Candidate Qualifications
To be successful in this role, a Master’s degree in Law (LL.M.) is preferred, along with 2–3 years of relevant experience in legal operations or contract management. Candidates should be proficient in contract drafting, with strong knowledge of corporate legal systems in India and exposure to North American jurisdictions. Communication skills, both verbal and written, must be excellent. A meticulous eye for detail, ability to multitask, and comfort working independently or within a team are essential traits. A background in business law or international law is a distinct advantage.
Preferred Expertise
While not mandatory, experience in staffing, IT services, or consulting sectors will be highly valued. Familiarity with employment law, corporate compliance, and tax law across regions will give candidates an edge. Exposure to contract lifecycle management tools or legal documentation systems is also a plus. Candidates who bring a practical understanding of legal operations and a knack for legal tech adoption will thrive in this role.
